       The panic attack is the unexpected feeling of terror, that occurs without warning first. The panic attack can occur at any time, even during sleep. Someone who is experiencing a panic attack may believe that he is having a heart attack and that the death is imminent. The terror that a person feels during a panic attack is not in proportion to the true situation and may be unrelated to what is occurring around them.

       The people with panic attack experience several symptoms like: racing heart, feeling weak, faint or dizzy, numbness in the hands and fingers, the feeling of terror impending doom or death, feeling sweaty or having chills, chest pain, difficulty in breathing, the feeling of loss of control. The panic attack is usually short and lasts less than ten minutes, although some of the panic attacks symptoms may persist for a longer time.

        The persons who have experienced a panic attack are at a larger risk for having subsequent panic attacks than the people who never experienced a panic attack. If the attacks happen repeatedly, the person is considered to have a panic disorder.

       Anxiety is one of the panic attack symptoms and it is a behavioral condition. The anxiety, however, can produce some very scary sensations. These sensations are physical manifestations of high anxiety and nothing more.

       The fear is present only when there is something that you are scared of. If you have panic attack symptoms when there is nothing to be afraid of, you are experiencing an inappropriate anxiety, which means the sensation of fear it is not a real fear.

       Even any strange or anxious thoughts you feel, are the products of the anxiety response which creates questions in your thoughts. If no real fear is present, the thoughts are presenting you the most scary scenarios and some can be really scary and disturbing. The scenarios may include aggressive thoughts or sexual thoughts, thoughts about some things you know you never actually done. The fear is disturbing and harmless and one of the most common symptom from the panic attack symptoms.

       All the panic attacks symptoms, feelings, thoughts and sensations you experience, are all products of the anxious nerve signals your brain produces. It is important to know that not every one experiences the same panic attack symptoms, because we are all different biologically and the symptoms may react differently to each other as a response to the same or similar stimuli.

       Here is a list of common panic attack symptoms:

  • Pounding heart or palpitation
  • Sweating
  • Shaking visibly or inside
  • Choking sensations
  • Chest pain or discomfort
  • Nausea, indigestion or abdominal discomfort
  • Dizziness or unsteadiness
  • Feeling light headed
  • Derealization
  • Depersonalization
  • The fear of losing control or going crazy
  • Paresthesias in face, extremities or body
  • Chills or hot flushes
  • Skin losing control
  • Blushing or skin blotches
  • Urgently need for urinating or defecate
  • Inappropriate thoughts
  • Muscle pain, especially at the neck and shoulders

       If you are experiencing different or more panic attack symptoms, this does not mean that your condition is worse or different, or that you are suffering from another condition. Some persons have anxiety disorders but never suffer from panic attack symptoms.

       Panic attack symptoms can be caused by many biological changes that happen during periods of stress and anxiety. Our body is very flexible, even in the periods of anxiety, our body is strong even though we do not feel it. Some persons are afraid that exists the possibility for their heart to stop or give up, through the racing, thumping of chest pain, but this is not true. These are all just very common panic attack symptoms.
